A movement of sustainability
Why Miriam makes this
Did you know that annually the production of clothing has more CO2 than air travel and shipping combined?
The textile industry has grown to become one of the biggest climate polluters in the world.
It produced 1.2 billion metric tons of CO2 equivalents in 2015. That's more than international flights and shipping combined cause. The trend is upward every year.
Add to this the trend of the fast fashion industry, which is a not insignificant contributor to the waste and accelerates climate change through mass burning of textiles.
You are asking yourself what is different about Emjays Street Wear? Quite simply, it is produced only after your order. So there is no overproduction and it is made just for you.
For example, the shorts or the bikinis are printed by the dear colleagues with ecological colors and then sewn with the sewing machine. You won't find mass production here. There are only a few items that are offered in cooperation with certified suppliers. Most items are either recycled, made from organic cotton or even biodegradable. That's right, there's a compostable phone case (just for the iPhone for now), they don't cast it until you want it.
We are all in the same boat and should change something.
I'm Miriam Merks, founder of Emjays Street Wear and I'm happy to welcome you here today.
This "movement" is very close to my heart. I have always wanted to make a difference and our environmental situation has given me food for thought.
It is a step in the right direction.
We try to produce your order near you, so that less CO² is produced.
